Balans has always been more than a restaurant. It is a place to meet, eat, drink and stay a little longer than planned.

Our story began in London in 1987, with a simple idea: create a neighborhood restaurant that feels just as right for breakfast and brunch as it does for dinner, drinks and a late-night martini.

That spirit eventually made its way across the Atlantic to Miami, where Balans has been part of the city’s dining scene for decades.

Today, you will find us in Brickell and Miami Beach, bringing together our London roots and the energy of Miami.

Across the bay, Balans on the Beach brings the same all-day spirit to Miami Beach, combining Balans favorites with a fresh, coastal approach just steps from the energy of Lincoln Road.

A lot has changed since the first Balans opened in London, but the idea behind it has not.

Great food. Good drinks. Warm hospitality. Music that sets the mood. And a restaurant that feels like part of the neighborhood rather than somewhere reserved for special occasions.

We have kept some things from the early days, reinvented others and added plenty along the way. You will still find nods to our history throughout Balans, from dishes and old menus to photographs and stories collected over nearly four decades.

Because while we are proud of where we started, Balans has never been about standing still.
